The Maretron High-Temperature Smoke/Heat Detector Kit (SH-003) is a rugged, marine-ready safety system designed to detect rapid temperature rises or smoke in high-heat environments like engine rooms and machinery spaces. When integrated with your NMEA 2000® network via a Maretron SIM100 Switch Indicator Module (sold separately), this kit enhances vessel safety by providing real-time alarm status that can be displayed on networked screens and interfaces. 

Built to withstand marine conditions, this kit includes an advanced multi-sensor detector, a sounder, and an auxiliary relay — all rated for high temperature operation. Its components are engineered to remain functional in environments ranging from sub-freezing to extreme heat commonly found around engine spaces, ensuring reliable detection when it matters most. 

Key Performance Features

• Dual Sensing Technology: This unit combines photoelectric smoke detection with a heat sensor that triggers if temperatures exceed 135°F (57°C). This dual-layer approach ensures rapid detection of both smoldering and fast-burning fires.

• Engine Room Optimized: Unlike household detectors, the SH-003 is engineered to operate in high-temperature environments, making it a reliable choice for monitoring the most fire-prone area of a vessel.

• Network Integration: When connected to a Maretron SIM100 Switch Indicator Module, the detector’s status can be broadcast over the NMEA 2000 network. This allows for boat-wide alerts on chartplotters or dedicated displays.

• Loud Local Alert: In addition to its networking capabilities, the unit features an internal 85dB siren to provide immediate audible warning at the source of the fire.
