A sacred Native American heirloom sunflower grown for millennia by the Hopi for its seeds, which produce a stunning blue-black dye for textiles and baskets. Large, dramatic flower heads on tall plants make this an outstanding ornamental and a living connection to Indigenous agricultural heritage. Seeds are also edible and nutritious for snacking and birdfeeding.
